Editorial Coaching

Learn to Think Like an Editor

Coaching is a key component of my generative AI services. I like to say that using AI to generate content is more an editorial task than a writing one. Most people don't know how an editor approaches a text. With a little instruction, they can improve their outcomes using ChatGPT or any generative AI as a writing assistant.

I offer one-on-one coaching and group sessions in a workshop format.

In 2016 I earned a Certificate in Professional Editing from U.C. Berkeley Extension. I use the skills I gained through the program nearly every day. My quick courses aren't a replacement of a certificate program. What they do is help participants develop an extra sensitivity to language along with a trained editor's voracious doubt.

Topics we'll explore include:

Why You Need GenAI Editorial Training

The best AI in the world will never be an artist. Art is a human activity. Communication, even of the technical sort, is an art, which means we can't trust machines to do it for us. That said, we still can benefit from AI tools, provided we know how to use them well.
