Developmental Editing
Build Content with Confidence.
As a professionally trained editor, I collaborate with executives to develop articles, white papers, and e-books to bring their voice and vision to the marketplace.
The developmental editor's typical role is to provide the client with start-to-finish guidance on a project's orgainzation, flow, and polish. I go a step further to offer ghostwriting at the drafting stage and deployment recommendations when it's time to publish. As your editor, I will take as much of the burden as you need carried.
Throughout the process, I will be your creative partner.
Here's what a developmental editorial project typically looks like:

Plan
Every project starts with a detailed outline. Along with assembling ideas and mapping out a project management plan, I research the marketplace to ensure our plan will find its audience.

Draft
Working in planned stages, we collaborate to develop the raw materials of your piece. Write the draft yourself, or lean on me to prepare elements for you.

Refine
As the draft comes together, I will ensure it meets the core requirements of a well-edited piece: clarity, consistency, and cohesion.

Deploy
With the finished piece in hand, we'll work together to ensure it reaches the right people. From simple publication to a blog all the way to creating lead-generating landing pages, I've got you covered.
The Fundamental Roles of a Developmental Editor
A developmental editor gets under the hood of a project, guides it and tinkers with its core features, while still leaving the client in control.

Deep Teamwork
The client is the author of the work. The editor builds a detailed understanding of the client's goals and offers solutions that bring the piece to life.

Constant Adjustments
Throughout the project, the editor keeps tabs on how all of the pieces fit together, ensuring the final work meets all of the client's goals.

Fine Tuning
As the project nears completion, the editor will put polish on the draft to make it ready for publication.
